I lust for love.
This time it’s different.
This time it will last.
It never does.
What a joke.
Nothing ever good comes after 2 a.m.. A line I like to use from ‘How I met your mother’. Random thoughts after seeing a movie and reading an old poem.
After seeing the movie “eternal sunshine of a spotless mind” I read the poem of “Eloisa to Abelard” by Alexander Pope.
It’s a beautiful yet tragic story about two lovers who were not allowed to love. They were forcefully separated and forbidden from seeing each other again. Yet Eloisa could not deny her love and longs to be with Abelard.
It makes you think. We could never let our thoughts and feelings go unanswered. It depends on us to either act or ignore the things we truly want.
True love is hard to find and comes to us unexpected.
When such a love comes to us.
Do we allow it to roam or deny it completely?
Forgetting love seems harder than to deny it.
We move on and continue our lives.
But can the mind truly forget?
By living a life for others.
We create our own demons.
And thus ignoring our own happiness.
I have been with many but genuinely loved only two girls in my life. A first love and a love in a wrong place and time. Yet love alone could not make a relationship work. People have to be compatible, honest, understanding, share interests and most importantly the willingness to work towards a common goal.
We can never be perfect in each relationship. We all have our flaws. The hard part is to be honest and accept them. Only then can we remove our bad habits and become a better person. It’s on our own that we start achieving our own goals but it takes family, a friend, a lover, to finish.
I’m not yet the person I wished I could be. But when I find that true love, I would not lose her and keep my faults. I would do everything possible to be the best person she and I both want me to be.
